Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics for JIAGANIS: Journal of Administration, Bussiness, and Social Science
At JIAGANIS: Journal of Administration, Bussiness, and Social Science, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. These guidelines are based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and outline the responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will result in the rejection of the manuscript.
- Data Integrity: Authors must ensure that all data presented in the manuscript are accurate and that no falsification, fabrication, or manipulation of data has occurred. Raw data should be available for editorial review if requested.
- Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All contributors who do not meet these criteria should be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other significant conflicts of interest that could be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
- Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
- Ethical Treatment of Human and Animal Subjects: Authors must ensure that their research involving human or animal subjects complies with all relevant ethical guidelines. Ethical approval must be obtained, and a statement confirming this should be included in the manuscript.
Responsibilities of Editors
- Fair Play: Editors must evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
- Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. Editors must recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
- Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which of the manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions.
- Review Process: Editors should ensure a fair and unbiased double-blind peer-review process. They should select reviewers who have appropriate expertise and avoid those with potential conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the manuscript through constructive feedback.
- Promptness: Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
- Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
- Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.
- Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Responsibilities of the Publisher
- Ensuring Editorial Independence: The publisher should ensure the autonomy of editorial decisions and protect the editors from any kind of influence.
- Maintaining Ethical Standards: The publisher should work closely with the editors to ensure that high standards of ethical behavior are maintained.
- Addressing Misconduct: In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the publisher, in close collaboration with the editors, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and amend the article in question. This includes the prompt publication of errata, clarifications, or retractions.
By adhering to these ethical guidelines, JIAGANIS: Journal of Administration, Bussiness, and Social Science aims to ensure the integrity and quality of the research we publish. For further details, please refer to our [Ethics Policy](#) or contact our editorial office.
