Abstract

Sungai Salak Village is the capital of Tempuling District which has residents from various ethnic groups who live side by side. The livelihoods of the Sungai Salak community are predominantly coconut, oil palm and areca nut farmers. Judging from the income level of the Sungai Salak community, not all people have plantation land that can provide a living for them, not infrequently there are still people who only rely on or work on other people's gardens. Of the population of 8,817, it can be said that those who have plantation land are approximately 60%. With such conditions, it will certainly affect the level of education and economy in the area. From the research day, the author obtained data from 100 respondents who had a monthly income, the most respondents who earned Rp. 1,000,000 to Rp. 2,000,000. So seeing this condition illustrates that the people of Sungai Salak Village, Tempuling District have a relatively low income. This also affects people's interest in saving in banks. In addition to the income that is still low, the factor of ignorance makes people less confident that their money is better saved in banks also affects people's interest in saving in banks. To increase public awareness so that they want to save in banks, the role of government is needed to help the economy in Sungai Salak Village. The role of government can be in the form of inviting banks to work together to be more active in socializing programs that exist in banks or perhaps often inviting people to seminars related to the benefits of saving money in banks.
