Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in improving the economy of the Redang Village community, West Rengat District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. BUMDes plays a role as one of the government's efforts in empowering village communities through independent management of local resources. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the study indicate that BUMDes Redang Village has several business units, but only some of them operate optimally. Several factors that hinder the effectiveness of BUMDes include limited capital, low managerial capacity, and lack of community participation. To increase effectiveness, it is necessary to increase the capacity of managers, optimize business units, and increase community participation in managing BUMDes.
